Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a water-based polyolefin resin composition excellent in, e.g. adhesion to organic substrates, metals, inorganic material, etc., by adding a specified amount of a polyhydrazide compound to a mixture in making a (modified) polyolefin water-based.
CONSTITUTION: In making a polylefin (e.g. polyethylene) or a modified polyolefin (e.g. chlorinated polyolefin) water-based by using a surfactant, a basic substance, etc., 0.1-30 pts.wt. polyhydrazide compound is added to 100 pts.wt. (in terms of solid content) polyolefin resin to produce a water-based polyolefin resin composition. Examples of the polyhydrazide compounds used include carbohydrazide, malonic dihydrazide and terephthalic dihydrazide. A coating material, an adhesive or other product containing this composition as the film- forming material can form a coating film which is tack-free after being dried and is excellent in gasohol resistance, water resistance, etc., and is excellent in safety because it is substantially free from any organic solvent.
