PURPOSE: To realize efficient cutting by constituting a cutting device to divide a solid matter (Konnyaku pasta, Harusame and others) put in water into a specified quantity so that the solid matter put in it is disentangled in a ring flow passage and fed to a cutting port with water.
CONSTITUTION: When a solid matter O is fed from above into a feeding part 2 including a motor-driven umbrella like rotary member provided in the central part of a cutting device 1, entangled part of the solid matter O is disentangled by rotation of the rotary member. Thereafter, the solid matter O enters a ring passage 4 through a connected passage 8, but in this case, the solid matter O collides with other solid matters O flowing in the ring passage 4 and its entanglement is further disentangled. Thereafter, the disentangled solid matter O is divided by cooperative work of inner and outer gates 20, 22 and taken out through an opened cutting port 6 with water. The solid matter O in the ring passage 4 oscillates a comb member 50, but the amount of the solid matter is detected by detecting its oscillating angle by an oscillating angle detector 52.
