To facilitate the judgement of the wear of a wire protective tube which avoids the wear of a wire, when the worn state of the protective tube is detected in accordance with the apperance of a color on the surface of the tube.
A wire protective tube 1 is a long tube consisting of an outer layer A and an inner layer B which have different colors and can be clearly distinguished from each other. In the cross-section of the tube 1, the boundary surfaces of the outer layer and the inner layer, particularly the inner layer B is shaped so as to protrude into the outer layer at a plurality of positions. If the outer layer A is worn out, the protrusions D1, D2 and D3 of the inner layer are quickly exposed and appear on the surface as a warning. Further, if the protrusion of the inner layer is shaped so as to be narrowed toward the outer layer, the rate of the wear can be judged in accordance with the width of the inner layer color stripe, so that the more effective management can be practiced. Moreover, if a large number of protrusions are formed or the protrusions are formed spirally in an axial direction, the delay of the appearance of the warning color which depends on the position of the wear can be eliminated.
