Title:
WEAR-RESISTANT OUTFITTING FOR ORNAMENTATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62240757
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide wear-resistant outfitting for ornamentation having a film which has high transparency and adhesive powder, deteriorates less with lapse of time and is highly resistant to corrosion by forming a transparent film of spinel on a metallic molding having a colored surface.

CONSTITUTION: The transparent film of spinel consisting of a compsn. MaAl2O4 is formed by a chemical vapor deposition method, sputtering, etc., on the metallic molding having the colored surface consisting of gold plating, etc. The titled outfitting which exhibits ≥3 years of wear resistance is thereby obtd. even if, for example, the gold plating is about 0.2W0.5μm slash gold plating. This method is not limited to the gold plating alone and is capable of preventing the discoloration by sulfiding of silver even in the case of a silver product or silver plating. The core material is not limited to metals and, for example, synthetic resins are used and are coated with the spinel after vapor deposition of the metal thereon. The above-mentioned outfitting is thus inexpensively obtd.
