Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately detect a weft without being affected by the passage state of the weft and by a noise signal caused by the fluctuation of water held between a projector and a light receptor.
CONSTITUTION: The weft detector has a projector 22 and a light receptor 24 which are faced to each other at a narrow distance across the passage locus of a weft 16, and water is held between the faced parts with the surface tension of the water. The first comparison mean 50 for comparing a signal obtained from the light receptor 24 with a prescribed standard value, a signal change rate-detecting means 44 for detecting the change rate of the signal obtained from the light receptor 24, and signal amplifying means 48, 49 for treating signals obtained by the signal change rate-detecting means 44 in different amplification rates, respectively, are disposed on the weft detector. Further, a switching means 52 for alternatively selecting with the first comparison means 50 different amplification rates by whether the amplification of the signal obtained from the lift receptor 24 is larger or not than a prescribed standard value and the second comparison means 46 for comparing an output signal selected by the switching means 52 with another prescribed standard value are disposed.
