To provide a method for weft insertion in a loom, intended to improve operating efficiency without causing any overload or weft breakage during weft insertion process through producing a yarn slack outside a weft distributor so as to keep the end of a weft to be inserted into the distributor tensilized.
This method for weft insertion in a continuous shed loom equipped with a feed nozzle 11 and a weft distributor 3 and designed to continuously feed wefts 1 by the aid of jet stream and continuously insert them through a shed, has such a scheme that, prior to completion of the insertion process, the direction of the jet stream is reversed to produce a yarn slack outside the weft distributor 3 so as to keep the end of a weft 1 to be inserted into the distributor 3 tensilized; wherein a nozzle device 12 is set up between the feed nozzle 11 and the weft distributor 3 within the weft path, helping advance a weft 1 under insertion process to produce a yarn slack in the front step of the nozzle device 12 within the weft path just after completing the insertion process.
