Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out the accurate sensing of weft yarn without being affected by a noise signal due to the fluctuation of water held between a projector and a receptor.
CONSTITUTION: This sensor is equipped with a projector 22 and a receptor 24 installed mutually oppositely at a narrow interval with a locus where beaten weft yarn 16 is passed therebetween and water is held between the opposite parts by surface tension. A shielding member 26 for shielding jetted water is provided on the picking side of the projector 22 and receptor 24. This sensor is further provided with a sensing means 44 for a rate of change in signal capable of sensing the rate of change in the signal obtained from the receptor 24, a comparing means (comparator) 46 for comparing the signal obtained by the sensing means 44 for the rate of change in the signal with the prescribed reference value and a picking discriminating means 50 capable of judging the signal from the sensing means 44 for the rate of change in the signal to be picking when it is larger than the prescribed reference value based on an output from the comparing means 46 and judging the signal to be mispick when it is smaller than the prescribed reference value.
