To improve working accuracy without increasing the height from a guide surface to a wheel spindle on a bed, in the turnable wheel spindle stock in a grinder.
In a grinder, a wheel spindle stock H, dividedly positioned around the turning center P of the spindle stock H itself and movable to a workpiece, is composed of: unturnable base mount parts 11 and 12 movable to a workpiece on a bed, and turning mount parts 14 and 15 loaded so as to be turnable with the center shaft 13, stoodly provided on the said parts 11 and 12, as the turning center. Engaging members faced with each other and joined to the respective unturnable and turning parts formed of uneven parts adaptable to be engaged with each other, and a turn locking means composed of a driving means for engaging/disengaging one side engaging member with/ from another engaging member, are provided between the unturnable and turning parts. A wheel spindle 31 to be rotatably driven is provided in the turning mount part, and also a rotation transmission mechanism 25 and rotation transmission mechanism driving means 27 and 28 between the center shaft and the turning mount part are provided on the upper part than the wheel spindle.
