PURPOSE: To reduce the erroneous operation of a zoom function of camera and to prevent the shaft shake of a camera together with zoom operation by providing a freely rotatable zoom lever.

CONSTITUTION: A zoom lever 10 is a lever which instructs the zoom operation of an optical system and held freely and rotatably around a supporting shaft 10a mounted on a holder 3. The zoom lever 10 is shaped like a shaft and a knurl (notch) 10b is formed parallel to the supporting sector 10a at the circular outercircumference side surface. The knurl (notch) 10b is provided to make the specific finger inserted into a grip belt 4 easy to extend by pressing the zoom lever 10 clockwise or counterclockwise when the user of a video camera operates the zoom. When any one finger is applied on the zoom lever 10 and rotates it clockwise, a telephoto signal is outputted and when rotated counterclockwise, a signal on the side of wide angle is outputted.
