Abstract:
To provide a new treating agent of infection with hepatitis B virus.
The pharmaceutical composition contains β-L-2'-deoxycytidine exemplified by the compound of the formula [wherein, R is selected from the group consisting of H, a straight chained, a branched or cyclic alkyl, a CO-alkyl, a CO-aryl, a CO-alkoxyalkyl, a CO-aryloxyalkyl, a CO-substituted aryl, an alkylsulfonyl, an arylsulfonyl, an aralkylsulfonyl, an amino acid residue, mono, di, or triphosphate, or a phosphate derivative; and BASE is a purine or pyrimidine base which may be optionally substituted].
