Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remove eccentric load functioning onto a test piece completely even if axial shift of upper and lower grippers is great by reducing sliding frictional force.
CONSTITUTION: In a material test machine for applying load to a test piece TP while gripping the test piece by means of a pair of upper and lower grippers disposed adjustably through universal joints 10, the lower universal joint 10 is provided with a spring 17 for bearing a fixed rod fixing member 18 resiliently, and a bearing 13 for the fixing member 18 wherein the axis of inner ring 13a is inclinable relatively to the axis of outer ring 13b.
