Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping unit capable of efficiently removing foreign matters adhering to a nozzle surface in short time, and the like.SOLUTION: The wiping unit comprises: a wiper 53 wiping a nozzle surface 13a of a droplet discharge head 13; a wiping movement mechanism 42 moving the wiper 53 in a wiping direction and a reverse-wiping direction parallel to the nozzle surface 13a; a pressing movement mechanism 44 moving the droplet discharge head 13 between a pressing position where pressing it against the wiper 53 and a retreat position where separating it from the wiper 53; and a control section controlling the wiping movement mechanism 42 and the pressing movement mechanism 44. The control section moves the wiper 53 in the reverse-wiping direction and brings the wiper 53 into a forward-bent posture in a state of the droplet discharge head 13 being moved to the pressing position, and subsequently moving it in the wiping direction and executes wiping operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
