Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new electric drive device and an electric power steering device, capable of efficiently dissipating heat of a power supply circuit unit and a power conversion circuit unit to the outside while shortening their length in the axial direction as much as possible.SOLUTION: Heat dissipation parts (15A, 15B, 28) for making heat generated in at least a power supply circuit unit (17) and a power conversion circuit unit (16) be conducted to a motor housing (11) are formed on an edge face part (15) of the motor housing (11) located opposite to an output part of an electric motor's rotation shaft (23). Thereby, making heat generated in the power supply circuit unit and the power conversion circuit unit be conducted to the edge face part of the motor housing enables omission of a heat sink member to shorten a length in the axial direction. Additionally, sufficient thermal capacity of the motor housing enables efficient dissipation of heat of the power supply circuit unit and the power conversion circuit unit to the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
