Abstract:
To inhibit a tensile force exerted on a foil film from getting out of a certain range.SOLUTION: A foil transfer device transfers a foil from a foil film onto a toner image formed on a sheet and includes: load application means which applies load torque to a supply reel around which the foil film is wound; a heating roller; a compression roller which sandwiches the foil film with the heating roller and transports the foil film wound around the supply reel; and a control unit. The control unit acquires residual amount information based on a residual amount of the foil film wound around the supply reel (S3). The control unit controls (S10) the load application means so as to supply second load torque, which is smaller than first load torque applied to the supply reel when the residual amount of the foil film is a first threshold value or larger, to the supply reel when the residual amount of the foil film is smaller than the first threshold value (S5, Yes).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
