Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To write information at a high speed regardless of the position of a storage medium on a sheet in an image forming apparatus which has a printer head reciprocating in a main scanning direction so as to form an image on the sheet and can electronically write information in the storage medium provided on the sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a conveyance mechanism which conveys a sheet in a sub-scanning direction; a metal detection antenna which is capable of detecting a NFC (Near Field Communication) tag provided in the sheet over the whole main scanning direction of the sheet; a carriage provided with a printer head which reciprocates in the main scanning direction and forms an image in a region in the sheet which passes the metal detection antenna; a NFC antenna which is provided in the carriage and is capable of performing NFC communication with the NFC tag; and a NFC writer which writes NFC data in the NFC tag via the NFC antenna.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
