Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize speeding up of ink consumption estimation processing while securing sufficient estimation accuracy.SOLUTION: Two areas (a high resolution estimation area and a low resolution estimation area) are set to a printing area by causing a user to specify an area for estimating ink consumption by using a high resolution image (S120, S130) after acquiring data for printing (S110). After that, ink consumption (a first ink amount) is estimated by using the high resolution image for the area set as the high resolution estimation area (S140a, S150a), and ink consumption (a second ink amount) is estimated by using a low resolution image for the area set as the low resolution estimation area (S140b, S150b). Finally, the total ink amount to be consumed by printing is calculated from the first ink amount and the second ink amount (S160).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
