Abstract:
To provide a photodetector with which it is possible to achieve both of heat conductivity and electrical insulation between a side pipe part and a heat absorption part so as to perform efficient and highly reliable photodetection.SOLUTION: A photodetector 1 comprises: a photoelectric multiplier (electron tube) 3 having a photoelectric surface 27 accommodated in a housing 21 which is equipped with an incidence window part 23 composed of a light permeable material and a metallic side pipe part 24 for holding the incidence window part 23 on one end side; and a heat absorption part E for absorbing heat from the photoelectric multiplier (electron tube) 3. The heat absorption part E includes a heat transfer part 4 enclosing the incidence window part 23 and the side pipe part 24 and thermally coupled to the incidence window part 23 and the side pipe part 24, and a cooling part 5 thermally coupled to the heat transfer part 4 for cooling the heat transfer part 4. The heat transfer part 4 includes an incidence window part contact face F1 which is in contact with the incidence window part 23 and an electrically insulating side pipe part contact face F2 which is in contact with the side pipe part 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
