Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for drawing images, which prevent quality deterioration of drawn images caused by irradiation of laser light for detecting an output level of laser light.SOLUTION: An image drawing device 1 includes: a laser light source unit 3; a scanner unit 4 for reflecting and scanning laser light; a laser light source control unit 6 which controls output timing and level of the laser light emitted from the laser light source unit 3 such that an image is drawn inside a scanning area of the scanner unit 4, and which provides control to have the laser light source unit 3 output characteristic detection laser light for detecting the output level of the laser light; a scanner control unit 7 which controls the scanner unit 4 to scan the laser light across a predetermined width; and a characteristic detection control unit 8 which, when adjusting the output level of the laser light, makes the scanner 4 scan across an extended width, causes the characteristic detection laser light to be output outside a region in which a drawing image is generated, and adjusts the output level of the laser light on the basis of a detection result of the output level of the characteristic detection laser light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
