Abstract:
To provide an automatic control device which can improve safety feelings of occupants in an own vehicle and a succeeding vehicle, in the automatic control device including a vehicle stop maintenance control.SOLUTION: An automatic control device imparts a pressing force for pressing a friction member to a rotating member which is fixed to a wheel of an own vehicle so as to maintain a stop state of the own vehicle with respect to a gradient of an uphill road. The automatic control device comprises: a detection part for detecting an inter-vehicle distance between the other vehicle behind the own vehicle and the own vehicle; and an adjusting part for adjusting the pressing force on the basis of the inter-vehicle distance. For example, the adjusting part adjusts the pressing force so as to be large as the inter-vehicle distance is short. Also, the automatic control device may acquire an approach speed of the other vehicle with respect to the own vehicle, and the adjusting part may adjust the pressing force so as to be large as the approach speed is high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
