Abstract:
To provide a wave power generation device capable of rotating an electric generator in the same direction regardless of the moving direction of a movable part.SOLUTION: A wave power generation device has a support part standingly provided in the sea, a movable part supported by the support part and moving up and down on the sea surface, and an electric generator. Either one of the support part and the movable part is provided with a rack, and the other is provided with: first and second pinion gears meshing with the rack; a first electromagnetic clutch that connects a first gear for rotating the electric generator to the first pinion gear; a second electromagnetic clutch that connects a second gear for rotating the electric generator via a direction reversing gear that reverses a rotation direction, to the second pinion gear; and a direction discrimination device that discriminates the rotation directions of both pinion gears. When the direction discrimination device discriminates that both pinion gears are in normal rotation, the first electromagnetic clutch is connected, and when the direction discrimination device discriminates that both pinion gears are in reverse rotation, the second electromagnetic clutch is connected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
