Abstract:
A catalyst according to an embodiment is a catalyst for synthesizing 1,3-butadiene from ethanol. The catalyst comprises: a porous silica support composed of crystalline silica; Zn; and Zr, wherein the catalyst has a multi-peak pore size distribution including a peak pore size of at most 2 nm (Dmicro) and a peak pore size of greater than 2 nm (Dmeso+macro).
