Abstract:
Disclosed are a copolymer of 4-methyl-1-pentene and an α-olefin which is lightweight, has good stress absorption properties, good stress relaxation properties, good vibration dumping properties, high scratch resistance, high wear resistance, high toughness, good mechanical properties and high flexibility, shows no stickiness in molding and is well-balanced in these characteristics, a composition comprising said polymer, and uses thereof. The aforesaid 4-methyl-1-pentene/α-olefin copolymer (A) comprises: 5-95 mol% of a constituting unit (i) which satisfies specific requirements and is derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene; 5-95 mol% of a constituting unit (ii) which is derived from one or more kinds of α-olefins selected from among α-olefins having 2 to 20 carbon atoms excluding 4-methyl-1-pentene; and 0-10 mol% of a constituting unit (iii) which is derived from a non-conjugated polyene, provided that the total amount of the constituting units (i), (ii) and (iii) is referred to as 100 mol%.
