Abstract:
[Problem] In this absorbent article equipped with three-dimensional gathers in a hollow and loop shape, the protrusion height of each of the three-dimensional gathers is increased so as to prevent leakage and reduce a sense of discomfort. [Solution] The present invention pertains to a sanitary napkin 1 which has formed at both longitudinal lateral sides on a skin-contacting surface side thereof hollow, loop-shaped three-dimensional gathers 10 that each protrude toward a wearer's skin side. The loop-shaped three-dimensional gathers 10 each have, inside the hollow space thereof, a pushing-up three-dimensional gather 11 that has a fixed end on the base end side of said loop-shaped three-dimensional gather 10 and that has a leading end forming a free end 12 standing up on the side facing the wearer's skin. A free-end elastic member 13 is provided, along the longitudinal direction, to the free end 12 of the pushing-up three-dimensional gather 11, and the loop-shaped three-dimensional gather 10 is configured to be pushed up from inside the hollow space by the free end 12 of the pushing-up three-dimensional gather 11.
