Abstract:
Provided are: an ultrasound image generating device that generates an ultrasound image having high image quality even for deep parts of a test subject; and a control method therefor. Real scanning lines (L1), which are obtained from acoustic wave echo signals, are used for a part (Ar1) of an ultrasound image (Img), such part having a depth that is equal to or less than a depth threshold value (D1). Interpolation scanning lines (L2), which are located between the real scanning lines (L1), are generated from acoustic wave echo signals for which there is a positional displacement between the focal position of an ultrasound wave and a measurement target position, for a part (Ar2) of the ultrasound image (Img), such part having a depth that is larger than the depth threshold value (D1). An ultrasound image (Img) having high image quality can be obtained for a deep part by using the interpolation scanning lines (L2).
