Abstract:
Active oxygen scavengers containing as the active ingredient pterin derivatives represented by general formula (I) which are optionally cyclized or salts thereof, wherein R?1� and R?2� represent each hydrogen, C�1-4? alkyl or acyl represented by the general formula R?3�-CO- (wherein R?3� represents C�1-4? alkyl); X represents formyl or hydroxymethyl; A represents a group represented by formula (Ia), and n is 0 or an integer of 1 or above; provided that n is 0 when X is hydroxymethyl and that R?1� and R?2� are each hydrogen and X is formyl when n is an integer of 1 or above.
