Abstract:
Provided are: an additive for a resin, with which decomposition and coloration are suppressed even under high temperature conditions and the function of the additive for a resin can be sustained; a method for producing same; and a method for suppressing coloration of a resin and maintaining the function of the additive for a resin. This additive for a resin comprises a polyoxyalkylene hydrocarbon ether represented by general formula (1), and has an alkali metal concentration of 10 mg/kg or less. Formula (1): R-O-(CH2CH2O) m- (CH2CH (CH3) O) n-H (In the formula, R denotes an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group having 1-22 carbon atoms, m denotes an integer between 0 and 60, n denotes an integer between 0 and 60, and the sum total of m and n is an integer between 1 and 120. The order of the m oxyethylene groups and n oxypropylene groups is discretionary.)
