Abstract:
An air conditioner to be installed on a ceiling or in the upper section of a lateral wall of a room, the air conditioner being equipped with a housing and a drain pan unit (50) for receiving drained water condensed by a heat exchanger (38). Given that the height of the housing is h[mm] and the horizontal width of the housing is W[mm], then the relationship W≥4×h is satisfied. The drain pan unit (50) includes a recessed groove part (54) and a drain pipe part (55). The surface section of the recessed groove part (54) substantially forms a V shape in which the height in the vertical direction is highest at both ends of the housing in the left-right direction and said height in the vertical direction is lowest near the center thereof. A first end section (55A) of the drain pipe part (55) is connected to the recessed groove part (54) at a position near the center in the left-right direction of the housing. The drain pipe part (55) extends toward the rear surface side from the first end section (55A) thereof at said position near the center of the housing in the left-right direction. Consequently, it is possible to efficiently lay the pipe while ensuring an installation error permissible range.
