Abstract:
This air-core-type cyclotron comprises: a pair of main coils, wound around a central axis line, disposed so as to face one another in an the axis axial direction along the central axis line, and generating a magnetic field for accelerating a charged particles; a sector coil unit forming a magnetic field that iswith strong and weak areas in a circumferential direction around the central axis line, and containing a plurality of sector coils, each being disposed in a radial direction intersecting with the axis axial direction on the inner side of the main coils and on the outer side from the central axis line, and each being curved into a circular sector-shape when viewed from the axis direction; an RF electrode (acceleration electrode) forming an electric field for accelerating the charged particle; a first vacuum container accommodating the pair of main coils; and a second vacuum container for accommodating the sector coil unit.
