Abstract:
Provided is an air damper that is easy to assemble and work with, and that can reliably minimize deformation of a wall of a cylinder even when the cylinder is thinned. This air damper 10 has a cylinder 20, a piston 40, a rod 50, and a cap 60; a wall part 21 of the cylinder 20 has a cross-sectional shape in which the cross-section orthogonal to the axial direction of the wall part has a major axis and a minor axis, the wall part having a pair of major-axis wall parts 25, 25 and a pair of minor-axis wall parts 26, 26; the cap 60 has a cover wall 61 having a major axis and a minor axis; and when the cap 60 has been fitted over an opening part 23 in the cylinder 20, the cover wall 61 has pushing parts 70 disposed on the outer sides of the major-axis wall parts 25 and support parts 75 disposed on the inner sides of the major-axis wall parts 25.
