Abstract:

Provided is an air mattress, the pressure of each pouch-shaped cell of which is variable. Said air mattress does not decrease in comfort for a person lying thereupon. The provided air mattress has: a plurality of air cell groups arrayed in the long direction of the air mattress, each of said air cell groups comprising a plurality of pouch-shaped cells; an air intake/removal pump; air tubes that connect the pouch-shaped cells to the air intake/removal pump, said air tubes comprising an independent first line for each air cell group and an independent second line for each of specific pouch-shaped cells in multiple air cell groups; and pressure sensors that measure the pressures in the pouch-shaped cells for each first and second line. One or more specific air cell groups each comprise three layers of pouch-shaped cells lined up in the long direction of the mattress: an upper layer, a middle layer, and a lower layer. The pressures of the pouch-shaped cells in the lower layer are controlled by the first line, the pressures of the pouch-shaped cells in the middle layer are controlled by the second line, and the pouch-shaped cells in the upper layer are connected to those in the middle layer.
