Abstract:
It is an objective of the invention to provide an alkaline cell preventing the liquid leakage of an electrolyte even after ten years of storage and having exceptional storage characteristics. The invention is an alkaline cell provided with a negative electrode (3) containing zinc, a positive electrode (2) containing manganese dioxide, and an alkaline electrolyte. The positive electrode (2) includes graphite particles and anatase titanium dioxide particles, the graphite particles having a basal surface and an edge surface. The height of the edge surface in the graphite particle is higher than 0.01 μm, and the average particle diameter of the anatase titanium dioxide particles is greater than the height of the edge surface of the graphite particle.
