Abstract:
An aluminum foil for an electrolytic capacitor which comprises a foil base material and, attached to the surface thereof, zinc phosphate composite particles comprising zinc and phosphorus or zinc phosphate composite particles comprising zinc and phosphorus and further one or more selected from among iron, manganese, nickel, cobalt, calcium, and magnesium. When the aluminum foil is subjected to an etching treatment, above zinc phosphate composite particles are dissolved preferentially, resulting in the formation of nuclei of etch pits, which leads to the uniform formation of a large number of etch pits. As a result, an elevated capacitance is achieved.
