Abstract:
Provided is aluminum nitride powder: (i) in which, in a volume-based particle size distribution measured by means of a particle size distribution measurement, the proportion of particles having sizes in the range of 5-150 µm is equal to or greater than 60 vol% with respect to all particles; (ii) that has, in a frequency distribution curve obtained by means of the aforementioned particle size distribution measurement, a peak in a particle size range (M range) of 5-50 µm and a peak in a particle size range (L range) of greater than 50 µm and 150 µm or less and in which the ratio (Mint/Lint) of the proportion (Mint) of particles in the M range and the proportion (Lint) of particles in the L range is 0.2-1.0; and in which 50% or more of particles belonging to a particle size range of 5-50 µm in a scanning electron microscope image taken at magnification x500 are multifaceted particles in which at least two flat surfaces are present.
