Abstract:
An anti-fog coating of the specific embodiments of the present disclosure, the coating being formed by the plasma polymerization of a saturated chain monomer, wherein at least two ends of the saturated chain monomer are provided with a hydrophilic group, and the hydrophilic group is hydroxyl, amino or carboxyl; the saturated chain monomer may or may not have an imino group between a carbon-carbon linking bond; the saturated chain monomer may or may not have a substituent, the substituent being hydroxyl, amino, or carboxyl; and at most one of an amino or hydroxyl group is connected to the same carbon atom in the saturated chain monomer. The anti-fog coating formed by the plasma polymerization of a saturated chain monomer exhibits outstanding hydrophilic performance, minimal color difference, excellent light transmittance, and impressive wear resistance. In addition, as the monomer does not have any double bonds, potential adverse effects to the coating performance during long-term use resulting from unstable double-bond residue in the coating are effectively mitigated. The anti-fog coating of the specific embodiments of the present disclosure is suitable for application on a transparent base material to effectively prevent fogging.
