Provided is an apparatus for firing a cathode material of a secondary battery, wherein the apparatus fires the cathode material of the secondary battery by moving the cathode material in a horizontal direction. The apparatus comprises: a gas supply unit which is located in a lower portion and from which a gas is supplied; a gas discharge unit which is located in an upper portion and from which the gas is discharged; a firing furnace which is located between the gas supply unit and the gas discharge unit and includes a firing space that extends in a vertical direction perpendicular to the horizontal direction; a heater for heating the firing space of the firing furnace; a plurality of saggers which accommodate the cathode material of the secondary battery and are stacked in the firing space in the vertical direction; and a pusher on which the plurality of saggers rest and which moves the plurality of saggers in the horizontal direction.
