Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for folding the sealing portion of a pouch-type battery cell and, more specifically, to an apparatus and method for folding the sealing portion of a pouch-type battery cell, the apparatus comprising: a lower unit comprising a lower folding block on which a sealing portion is seated and which can carry out a horizontal reciprocating movement and an elevating movement; an upper unit which is located on the upper portion of the lower unit and can carry out a horizontal reciprocating movement and an elevating movement, and comprises an upper folding block for pressing the sealing portion to be bent by a certain angle; a lower folding guide portion which is located in front of the lower unit and can carry out the elevating movement, and guides the sealing portion to be bent by a certain angle; and an upper folding guide portion which is located in front of the upper unit and can carry out the elevating movement, and guides the sealing portion to be bent by a certain angle.
