Abstract:
A method for punching side slots of a USB metal housing (10), comprising: pressing a USB metal housing (10) into a first mold core of a first machining station (A2); punching a first side surface of the USB metal housing (10) to punch a first side slot on the first side surface; pressing the USB metal housing (10) into a second mold core of a second machining station (A3); punching a second side surface of the USB metal housing (10) to punch a second side slot on the second side surface, wherein the first side surface and the second side surface are two opposite side surfaces of the USB metal housing (10); and blanking the USB metal housing (10) on the second machining station. By means of said approach, situations that a punch needle and a cutter edge of a core are broken can be reduced. Also disclosed is an apparatus using the method.
