Abstract:
Provided in the present invention is an application of cephalosporin antibiotics in the preparation of a medicine for preventing/treating pulmonary arterial hypertension. By means of pharmacological experiments on the preventative and treatment effects of low, medium, and high doses of cephalosporin antibiotics (intravenous or oral) on pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in rats, which is induced by monocrotaline, the present invention is verified to have a good therapeutic effect, being better than that of the control group. By virtue of the preventative and treatment effect of cephalosporin antibiotics (pulmonary administration) on PAH in rats, which is induced by monocrotaline, results show that pulmonary administration at lower doses may reduce pulmonary artery pressure, reduce right ventricular hypertrophy and reduce pulmonary vascular reconstruction, the therapeutic effect being significantly better than that of approaches of intravenous or oral administration. The present invention provides a new medicine for preventing/treating pulmonary arterial hypertension, and has good clinical application prospects.
