Abstract:
In a passive radar satellite 1, one or a plurality of radar openings 18 are attached to a satellite bus unit 14 by way of a radar opening drive device 17 having a variable attachment angle, wherein: in the radar openings 18, one or a plurality of radar antenna panels 12 are attached spaced apart in a planar shape by means of extending mast mechanisms 13; each radar antenna panel 12 is configured from a plurality of antenna units including a sub-array antenna comprising a plurality of patch antennas, and a radar receiver; and the satellite bus unit 14 is equipped with solar cell panels 15 and a communication device 16 for exchanging data and control signals. The passive radar satellite 1 forms a bistatic radar system by means of ground devices, ships, aircraft, or other satellites, having a radar, and detects an object being investigated by receiving reflected waves of radar waves emitted by each radar, reflected from the object being investigated.
