Abstract:

A novel artificial stone which contains an inorganic aggregate and a resin and has an uneven surface wherein the inorganic aggregate is exposed, characterized in that the average depth of concave grooves of the surface is in the range of 0.02 mm to 1.0 mm and the volume percentage of the inorganic aggregate is 25 % to 75 %. The artificial stone has an elaborate structure, exhibits transparent and deep sense, has excellent massive feeling and color like a marble, has a high surface hardness, exhibits good formability, and exhibits excellent non-slip performance even when it is contacted by bare feet or by hard soles of shoes.
