Abstract:
This assistance method uses an assistance device provided with: a base; a support unit which is elevated and lowered relative to the base while supporting the upper body of a person being assisted from the front side; and a drive unit for driving the support unit. The assistance device has a waterproof structure. The assistance method comprises a placement step in which the person being assisted in a sitting state is placed on the assistance device, and a back-side washing step in which a care giver washes the body of the person being assisted in a state in which the support unit is elevated so that the hip of the person being assisted is elevated.
