Provided are an authentication assisting device, a terminal device, an authentication system, and a storage medium which make it possible to integrate storage media used for personal authentication in a plurality of facilities. An authentication assisting device (1) assists personal authentication performed using a storage medium (3) in which personal ID information is stored. The personal ID information is information for identifying an individual and shared among a plurality of facilities. The authentication assisting device (1) is provided with: a database (12) for storing personal identification information associated with the personal ID information; a first reception unit (11a) for receiving, from a terminal device (2) installed in each of the facilities, the personal ID information stored in the storage medium (3); an extraction unit (11b) for extracting, from the first storage unit (12), the personal identification information associated with the received personal ID information; and a first transmission unit (11c) for transmitting the extracted personal identification information to the terminal device (2). The personal identification information includes face image information.
