An avatar control method and apparatus, and a device, a storage medium and a program product, which relate to the technical fields of computers and the Internet. The method comprises: displaying, in a user interface, at least two skill controls which share the same skill point set, wherein the skill point set comprises at least two skill points, each skill control corresponds to a skill group, and each skill group comprises at least one skill (310); in response to an operation for a first skill control among the at least two skill controls, determining, from among the at least two skill points, a first skill point to be used (320); and controlling a first avatar to release a skill, which corresponds to the first skill point, in the skill group corresponding to the first skill control (330). In the present application, a skill group corresponding to a skill point is set for each skill control, such that a skill is added without adding a skill control, and the diversity of released skills is thus improved without effecting a user plane.
