Abstract:
Disclosed is a backlight unit for vehicles, which makes possible a bright backlight which can accommodate in-vehicle temperature conditions. Specifically disclosed is a backlight unit for vehicles that has a plurality of light sources (21) that illuminate a display from the back, and a circuit board (22) that is provided behind the aforementioned display and has the aforementioned plurality of light sources installed thereupon, said backlight unit for vehicles being characterized by having a heat-radiating means (23) that is placed facing the back surface of the aforementioned circuit board (22), a heat conducting material (24) that conducts heat from the aforementioned circuit board (22) to the aforementioned heat-radiating means (23), and a pressure bonding means (25) that fixes the aforementioned circuit board (22) and the aforementioned heat conduction material (24) to the aforementioned heat-radiating means (23), and pressure bonds the aforementioned heat conduction material (24) onto both the aforementioned circuit board (22) and the aforementioned heat-radiating means (23).
