Abstract:

This bag manufacturing and packaging machine (10) comprises a first seal jaw (56), a second seal jaw (57), a horizontal movement device (54), a vertical movement device (55), and a control unit (16). The horizontal movement device (55) causes the first seal jaw (56) and the second seal jaw (57) to move in the vertical direction V. The horizontal movement device (55) has a rotating shaft (59a), a vertical movement motor (59), and a vertical link mechanism (90). The vertical link mechanism (90) transmits rotational force of the rotating shaft (59a) to the first seal jaw (56) and the second seal jaw (57). The control unit (16) performs a first control or a second control. The first control involves causing the rotating shaft (59a) to rotate forward and in reverse from the start of one side sealing operation until the start of a subsequent side sealing operation. The second control involves causing the rotating shaft (59a) to rotate forward in one of the first side sealing operation and the subsequent side sealing operation, and to rotate in reverse in the other of the two operations.
