Abstract:
A ball end mill having a ball blade (2). In the ball end mill, the rake angle (γ) of each portion of the ball blade (2) is set in a range of -10º to 0º and the negative value of the rake angle (γ) is increased from the tip of the ball blade (2) and the outer end (2o) of the ball blade in a radial direction towards the midpoint of one quarter of the circle and maximized substantially at the midpoint of one quarter of the circle.
