Abstract:
A ballast-water treatment device equipped with: a discharge channel for discharging ballast water from a ballast tank for storing ballast water; an ultraviolet irradiation device for irradiating ballast water flowing through the discharge channel with ultraviolet rays, and including an ultraviolet lamp; a circulation channel formed in a manner such that the ballast water circulates and is exposed to the ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet lamp; a switching part for switching the channel through which the ballast water flows between the circulation channel and the discharge channel; and a control device for controlling the switching part in a manner such that the ballast water flows through the circulation channel during the interval of illumination treatment by the ultraviolet lamp, and flows through the discharge channel when the illumination by the ultraviolet lamp is finished.
