Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a balloon catheter which has excellent passability when passing through narrow sections and excellent expandability for the balloon. Provided is a rapid exchange type balloon catheter (100) comprising an outer tube (10), a balloon (30), and an inner tube (40), wherein the inner tube consists of a PEEK resin, the outer diameter of a balloon part (33) is 0.7-0.9 mm and the thickness of the balloon part is 6.0-9.0 µm when the internal pressure of the balloon is 6 atm, and the outer diameter (D) of the balloon part linearly increases and the inclination (a) of an approximate straight line (D = a･p + b) based on regression analysis is 0.02 mm/atm or more when the internal pressure (p) of the balloon is increased from 2 atm up to 14 atm.
