Abstract:
A battery state estimation system and method for an energy-independent smart sensor are provided. In order to monitor the voltage and the current for each operation state of a sensor to utilize same for the state estimation of a battery without excessive energy consumption, SoC and SoH information about the battery is provided from voltage and current changes according to load changes for each operation cycle of the sensor, in order to improve accuracy in lifespan estimation of a sensor battery, voltage and current information for each operation state is acquired in comparison with that of a conventional OCV method, thereby increasing SoC and SoH accuracy, and SoH can be estimated through the measurement of a voltage drop value after the termination of a sensor operation, so that maintenance and management costs of a sensor network can be reduced.
