Abstract:
It has been discovered that using the occurrence of fluorescent bright spots caused by aggregation of a lysosomal protein to which a fluorescent protein has been added, in cells expressing the lysosomal protein, as an indicator to select a compound having activity in inducing alternative autophagy makes it possible to efficiently screen for compounds having anticancer activity. It has also been discovered that a benzothiophene compound represented by general formula (1) has alternative autophagy-inducing activity and anticancer activity.
